D&B PHILIPPINES: BUILDING A BETTER TEAM TO BETTER SERVE YOU

We at Dun and Bradstreet Philippines, Inc. (D&B Phils.) take seriously our vision as being the most trusted source of commercial insight so that our customers can decide with confidence. To better live up to this aspiration, we conducted a Team Building Workshop last 9-10 April at Chateau Royale Sports & Country Club in Nasugbu, Batangas with the objective of establishing the entire D&B Phils. team as having “one heart and one mind.”
 
Our first day started with a simple prayer of thanksgiving for our safe arrival in Batangas. Excitement filled the room as we kicked off the session by introducing ourselves. The introductions were made more interesting as we mentioned not only our names but also a phrase on how we wanted to be remembered by our colleagues.
 
Once the introductions were over, we settled down to listen to a talk anchored on the scriptural passage from John 15: “Love one another as I have loved you” given by the contributors from www.christian-esoteric-mysticism.com. The discussion highlighted three points: the various levels of love, communication, and the seven embodiments. This gave us an opportunity for introspection, particularly on our level of passion and commitment for our work, for each other, and for the good of the organization as a whole.
 
Following the seminar, we were divided into smaller groups for the rest of the activities. Upon receiving our group assignments, we all headed outdoors for a mini sports festival which included games such as Pass the Message and Break the Egg. Afterwards, we headed back inside for the last major activity of the day: D&B’s Got Talent! Each of the groups prepared a short presentation – whether a skit, song number or dance routine – which was then judged by D&B Phils. Chairman Alberto Lina and his wife Mrs. Sylvia Lina. Through our active participation in all these activities, we were able to foster and better appreciate the value of camaraderie and teamwork.
 

 
Much of our second day was spent exploring and admiring the beautiful grounds in and around Chateau Royale. This also provided us with the opportunity to get to know each other more and to build better personal and professional relationships with one another. We headed back to Manila at the end of the day, refreshed, recharged and inspired to face all the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead of us.
